Q: What is the process of booking a tour?
A: We are open 7 days a week for venue tours. Just contact the venue and we’ll set you up with an appointment. We typically get your phone number and email to begin sending you information prior to arrival.
Q: What should a bride expect when going on a tour?
A: The Wedding Coordinator will first meet with the couple and provide them with all the information required. Then she’ll answer questions, give them a tour of the venue and they will leave with a beautiful folder with all the information we spoke about.
Q: Do you have a special vendor list that you recommend and work with?
A: Yes, the folder I mentioned above includes all the vendors in our packages PLUS other not in our packages. You’ll leave feeling your entire wedding just got planned.
Q: How well are you able to work with budgets?
A: Because we have packages, we don’t nickel and dime the bride and groom. We can adjust the package to meet their budget. For example, if a member in the family can do the cake, we just credit the bride and groom the amount for the cake.

A: We typically are booking 1.5 years in advance of most weddings.
Q: When and how do you meet with the bride?
A: We meet with the bride as soon as she books the venue. We begin coaching her 24 hours after she signs up on how to prepare her guest list.
Q: How does your free service help brides plan a successful wedding and reception?
A: The complimentary Wedding Planner and day of Wedding Coordinator holds the brides hands every step of the way; we even coach the Maid of Honor and Groom on their responsibilities. We begin with guest list coaching, providing information for the right undergarments, following up with the vendors, to the day of timeline. Everyone is on a radio the day of and everything works like clockwork.
Q: Personally, what is your favorite part of wedding coordinating?
A: I love working on the details of the wedding. Providing the bride with options and watching her face light up when I’ve suggested something she just loves!
Q: How often should a bride expect to hear from you after booking The Louisiana Cajun Mansion Event Venue for their wedding/reception?
A: It depends on how far in advance the wedding is. If it’s a year away, she’ll hear from me about every two weeks. Then as it gets closer, such as 6 months prior, the bride hears from me at least once a week through email on something new we need to discuss. I work through email to be non-abrasive and she can respond on her own timeline. It’s also a way I can keep all our correspondence in one place for organizational purposes.
Q: What details do you take care of for the bride?
A: Some brides want to handle the details themselves and I coach them on verifying they have everything they need. For the brides who want me to handle the details, I just handle it for them. Examples might be, purchasing and selecting everything on her cake table, her welcome sign as everyone walks in, purchasing special plate ware for the tables, purchasing special items for the Bride & Groom’s Dinner table and much more.
Q: Are you able to help plan/coordinate any style of wedding?
A: Yes. It’s one of the first questions we ask the bride when we consult with her. Most brides who book at the wedding prefer an elegant setting. For those who prefer rustic, we mix rustic with elegant and BAM… what a nice look. We’ve had some weddings with themes such as boho weddings, tropical and Garden Weddings.
Q: How do you handle communication with your clients on the day of the event?
A: We actually begin communication the day before or the day they select for the rehearsal. We meet the parents and sometimes the grandparents. We pay special attention to building a relationship with them so they are comfortable. We create special seating for them for the ceremony AND the reception and also let them know where the seating is. If anyone is handicapped or fragile, we pay special attention and make sure the staff serves them dinner for the reception.
Q: What is the main goal when coordinating a wedding?
A: My main goal is that I have the vision the bride has in her mind. From there, I make her vision happen plus more. There is nothing more satisfying than watching a brides face during her reception. Additionally, I want the guests to feel good about being at the wedding ceremony and the reception. Most guests tell me how beautiful and organized everything was and how happy they are to have shared the bride and groom’s special moment!
Q: Do you love what you do? If so, why?
A: I love creating and planning these events. Each wedding is different and I look for ways to make it special for the bride and groom depending on their vision. When you love what you do, the job becomes very easy. But I must mention, I couldn’t do it without my great team of people who make it happen for me. They work hard and start early in the morning setting everything up; then they leave and come back to work the event. That same team comes back early the next morning and tears down and cleans. There is a lot of hard work behind the scenes.
