Mardi Gras parades in Lafayette start on Valentine’s Day and continue all the way through to Fat Tuesday. We have everything from walking parades to parades full of massive floats. Starting on February 14 will be Krewe de Canailles Walking Parade at 6:30 pm. Then the following day will be the Krewe of Carnivale en Rio Mardi Gras Parade at 6:30 pm and Krewe des Chiens at 2 pm. February 22 will have the Krewe of Bonaparte Mardi Gras Parade and 6:30 pm and the Children’s Parade at 12:30 pm. February 24 will have Queen Evageline’s Parade at 6 pm. On Mardi Gras, February 25, there will be the King Gabriel’s Parade at 10 am, the Lafayette Mardi Gras Festival Parade at 1 pm, and then the Townsquare Media Independent Parade at 2:30 pm.
In addition to the multiple parades there will also be elegant Mardi Gras Balls and starting on February 21, Le Festival de Mardi Gras à Lafayette. It takes place on Cajun Field in Lafayette. It includes carnival rides, games, live music, and food vendors. Parades also roll through the festival grounds. What better way to celebrate Mardi Gras than with a carnival with food and fun?
